Airbrush makeup was first used a century ago, but its use and application was limited. In the seventies, airbrush started gaining more popularity, and in the last twenty years its use has become more widespread. Its popularity was based on the much touted flawless finish and durability.
For many years I employed and offered both techniques, as each technique had unique advantages depending on the location, type of work and clients’ needs. However, in recent years with advancements in makeup, introduction of HD conventional makeup, waterproof makeup, primers and bases, this is no longer the case.
For bridal, events and photo shoots, I highly recommend and use High Definition conventional makeup. It is made especially for today’s high resolution cameras and lighting. It comes in a wider variety than any other makeup. Because it is more versatile, it offers the artist the ability to create a more involved, more customized look for each client.
You can think of airbrush and traditional makeup as different techniques or tools employed by makeup artists to fashion the look that they want. So it comes down to a matter of preference for the client and the artist. In the hands of a top makeup artist either technique will accomplish great results.
My advice for brides is to choose an experienced makeup artist who works withhigh quality products. The beauty team should also have bridal beauty experience; weddings run on a scheduled time line, your beauty team has to manage time efficiently and still deliverexceptional results. Finally, don’t forget, the best makeup you can wear is the makeup that is personalized just for you.
Yes, beauty services are available for all members of your bridal party and additional guests if requested.I have assembled a team of highly experienced professionals that I can bring to the event. Depending on the number of persons, type of services requested and timeline, I can take as many as eight team members. We always make sure to arrive on time and allocate enough time for each person. Additionally, when I’m booked for an event, my team can work a second and third event as well.
I always recommend reservingthe event date as soon as you are confidentina beauty professional. Most brides make reservations between six months to year before the wedding. If you wait 2 to 3 months before your special occasion,chances are the date will not be available, especially during high season.
A trial is always recommended. Having a trial will give you a clear idea of how your makeup and hair will look, feel and photograph on the wedding day. It is entirely up to you. Most clients have their trial 2 to 3 months before the special occasion. However; if you want to have the trial before retaining our services for your event, I recommend scheduling it much earlier.
A makeup and hair trialwill last between two to three hours.We begin with a consultation, after; we do the hair style and makeup, followed by making any needed adjustments.
Yes, typically we do not charge extra for incorporating a hair piece or extensions to your style; however, if the extensions are tangled or severely damaged there may be an extra charge or we may opt to not use them at all.
Temporary hair extensions should match the color and texture of your natural hair, and must be 100% natural hair as opposed to synthetic or blends. We can't guarantee the results with synthetic hair extensions.
With prior arrangement we can purchase the extensions for you from a reputable supplier.
The brands I use are well known high quality names such as, MAC, Bobby Brown, Dior, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Joe Blasco, Make Up For Ever, etc.
I do not endorse any products or receive commission from any brands. My choice of cosmetics is entirely basedon professional opinion, product’s performance, and which are better suited for my clients’ needs. Yes, because South Florida is a destination wedding region a good number of our events are destination weddings. The great majority take place in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami. We are also available for travel abroad. Most our destination weddings overseas have been in the Caribbean, Mexico and Bahamas; a fewer number in Europe and South America.
We do not charge a travel fee in Miami-Dade or south Broward counties. For all other areas a travel expense will be charged based on distance and mode of travel.
The foundation and eye makeup are of the highest quality to ensure maximum wear, so it will last for hours without a touch up. Nevertheless, just in case, a mini touch-up kit is given to the bride. The kit will contain blotting papers, lipstick, gloss and false eyelash adhesive.Assigna family member or one of your bridesmaidsas makeup attendant. She will check your makeup throughout the evening and ensure you look your best.
When the bride and bridal party are ready with makeup and hair, we will do any final touch-ups before leaving. However, with prior arrangement I or a team member can stay with the bride for touch-up or a change of look. This service is charged by the hour.
A new trend in bridal events is for the bride to have a formal style during the ceremony, usually an up-do, and later for the reception change the style to an evening look or natural wave. The same goes for the makeup, after the ceremony the bride changes the makeup to a natural glam, smoky, gold or evening look.
